Richard Call Terry was born in October 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Utah in 1977. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law, now Seattle University, in Tacoma, Washington in 1981. He was an associate with the law firm of Gustin, Adams, Kasting and Liapis for two years beginning in 1981, after being admitted to the Utah State Bar. He then associated with Corbridge Baird & Christensen from 1983 to 1988. In 1988 he became a shareholder of the firm, which postition he has held ever since.

Richard has been a frequent speaker in various forums on lending issues, bankruptcy rights, collections, real property and title issues. Over the last 25 years, he has represented banks, credit unions, leasing companies, lending institutions, title companies and underwriters in commercial real property and consumer law with a strong emphasis on creditor's rights in bankruptcy. He has always managed a thriving collection mill involving repossessions, foreclosures and creditors' rights in bankruptcy. The best part of this business is, without a doubt, the clients.

Richard is married to the love of his life, Karen, who, like him, is a product of the Avenues in Salt Lake City, where they continue to live. They are the parents of five children. Karen and Richard are avid proponents of Utah and its natural beauties. They love hiking, all forms of biking and skiing. Music is also a significant element of their lives. Richard is a violinist and Karen plays the guitar.
