Preston D. Koerner was born in April 1979, and raised in Dallas, Texas.  He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2003 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Japanese.  Subsequently, Preston received his M.B.A. from SMU Cox School of Business and his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2007.  While at SMU, Preston was elected as Student Bar Association Treasurer and served as a Staff Editor and Articles Editor on the International Law Review Association. 
 
While in law school, Preston worked as a summer clerk for Federal Magistrate Judge Paul Stickney, a summer associate for the legal department of LSG Sky Chefs, and summer associate for the legal department of Crescent Real Estate Equities. 
 
Preston joined Terry Jessop & Bitner as an associate in 2007. He is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of Utah.  Preston is one of the few LEED AP attorneys in Utah and practices in the areas of green building, construction law, contracts, collections, commercial litigation, business transactions, and employment law.
 
Preston also helps entrepreneurs and small businesses understand legal issues relating to social media, blogging, copyrights, trademarks, privacy, entity formation, collections, independent contractors, and doing business.
